A selection needs a time boundary as well as an outcome. Name the period: regulation, a half, a quarter, the whole event with overtime, or a qualification outcome. Similar labels can settle differently if their boundaries differ.
The checked Betfair builder FAQ excludes overtime in basketball but includes extra innings in baseball. Its football section generally uses 90 minutes, with a note about some in-play markets. These are product-specific observations rather than a universal sports rule.
If a general sport rule and a product FAQ appear inconsistent, keep both scopes visible and ask for clarification. Never silently choose the rule that produces the preferred outcome. Our sport hubs preserve the distinction and list questions still requiring a source.

Every checked observation belongs to the linked source edition. Product exceptions, sport rules and jurisdiction terms require separate verification.
